Financial Strength Empowers Women

Many women, from all walks of life dream of financial independence. For many, the route to financial independence lies in starting their own business. Starting a business can be a daunting task. It requires an enormous amount of dedication, discipline and due diligence--not to mention time and energy. What keeps the successful entrepreneur going is the knowledge that the result of all the effort can be financially rewarding and personally fulfilling. Many women have terrific skills of multi-tasking, time management, and networking, but are hindered from starting their own business by the fear of the unknown. Unfortunately, too many women have had their efforts thwarted by inexperience, lack of support, poor planning and/or a lack of financing.

The SBDC can help by expanding your knowledge and understanding of basic business principles, marketing, bookkeeping, and business planning. Armed with this knowledge, and sufficient drive, many women are able to achieve their dream of financial independence. Being an entrepreneur has its rewards and its challenges. To successfully grow a business, the owner must master a number of elements – planning, financing, training, marketing and networking are but a few.
