The Galveston Small Business Development Center Staff

 Carroll Cobb, JD
SBDC Director
Carroll did her Bachelor’s and Master’s work in Industrial Psychology at the University of Georgia. She holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of South Carolina and practiced law for over 20 years. She started DocuSearch, Inc. and grew it to a multi-million dollar business employing 135 people with offices in three states. She is the author of “Advice from the Lemonade Stand,” A Back to Basics Book for Business, and many articles on starting and growing a business. In addition to her general management experience, she is a veteran of over 15 years experience in business consulting. She has been with the GC SBDC about 2 years, and has been the Director since May 2010. Carroll is certified in Profit Mastery and in NxLevel for Entrepreneurs.

Andrea Cortinas, MBA
Consultant
Andrea earned an MBA from the University of Houston, Clear Lake with a concentration in International Business. She served as an Associate Finance Director for UTMB for several years. She has worked with many businesses that have become successful, and is often featured in our clients' success stories. Andrea excels in developing business plans and finance models. Andrea has been with the GC SBDC since February 2009.

 Jeanne Hudson, CPA
Consultant
Jeanne earned a BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas in Austin and has over 20 years of experience as a practicing CPA. As an experienced accountant, Jeanne is well positioned to offer clients assistance in setting up their bookkeeping systems, budgeting, and all aspects of financial analysis. Jeanne has her own CPA practice in Galveston and works with the GC SBDC part-time.

Larry is an engineer and entrepreneur with 35 years experience in developing new products and the startup and growth of new companies. Having personally been through the pitfalls and rewards of owning multiple businesses, he is well qualified to assist you with any stage of your business growth. With marketing knowledge and a visionary approach he can offer clients unique advice.

Sindi Dotson
Administrative Assistant
Sindi has been with the SBDC since its inception and has worked for our host institution for over eleven years. Sindi is responsible for all accounting functions and also assists in coordinating training and tracking results.
